companies unlock efficiency, reduce waste, and transform software from a hidden cost into a competitive advantage. We believe the digital world we all depend on becomes stronger, safer, and more sustainable. Teams build faster, smarter, and with greater pride.
For this to happen, top leadership needs visibility and influence over the software organizations powering their business. That’s why we created the Seerene Software Development Management Platform —to turn complex software delivery into a source of measurable, strategic advantage. The future belongs to those who master their software — and we commit to make that future possible.
Seerene was born from over 15 years of groundbreaking research at the Hasso Plattner Institute, where our founders tackled one of the biggest obstacles in modern enterprise leadership: how to gain meaningful, actionable transparency into the vast, complex, and invisible world of software development. Led by Dr. Johannes Bohnet, our team pioneered “software cartography” — a revolutionary way to map, measure, and manage software organizations at scale. This research evolved into Seerene’s enterprise platform, delivering a level of visibility and control once thought impossible.
With Seerene, top leadership from various industries gains strategic transparency into their software organizations — reinforcing efficiency, accountability, and alignment, without demanding additional time or operational involvement from the CIO, CEO, or board. Leaders stay focused on outcomes while the organization sharpens its performance around clear, data-driven priorities. Recognized by Gartner as a Cool Vendor, by McKinsey and Google as B2B Scale-Up of the Year, and selected by Microsoft for its ScaleUp program, Seerene turns software into a source of strategic advantage for large corporations — finally placing it within reach of the executive agenda.
As founder & CEO, Johannes defines Seerene’s vision and strategy, so that the product satisfies the demands of both current and future customer markets. Dr. Bohnet leverages his role as Seerene’s CEO to promote his vision of a network of executives and leading experts dedicated to solving software’s most pressing challenges.
Before founding Seerene, Johannes capped off a successful career in academia, where he’d studied at the universities of Heidelberg and Münster, by achieving a Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Potsdam.
Marc has guided Seerene’s development from the start with a steady hand. He is a passionate company builder, who also believes value creation is tied to social responsibility. He brings more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur to his role as founder and executive chairman of Seerene, including the development and eventual sale of LandXplorer to Autodesk in 2008.
Marc also heads the German Deep Tech Group, which takes a systematic approach in its founding of companies within the space of deep tech. The Group has contributed to Seerene’s progress from its beginning.
