Hasso Plattner Institute

Seerene based in Berlin/Potsdam, Germany is a spin-off of the Hasso Plattner Institute (www.hpi.de), the university center of excellence for software engineering. The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam holds an unique position on the landscape of German universities. The highly ranked Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programs in IT-Systems Engineering have a high practical and innovation orientation. The HPI has no tuition fees and is financed through private funds donated by its founder, Professor Hasso Plattner, who co-founded the software giant SAP. The HPI also maintains strong international contacts, for example with Stanford University, the American ivy league university in Palo Alto, California. Each graduating class represents a new group of outstanding minds destined to become the international IT industry’s most prominent players.

Seerene cooperates with the chair of Computer Graphics Systems of the Hasso Plattner Institute. In this field, led by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Döllner, the research focuses on computer graphics systems and technologies and their software architectures. One aspect of research are methods for extracting, analyzing and visualizing complex software systems, their dynamics and development processes (software visualization) with the aim to create transparency during development, reducing costs, and decreasing quality-related risks. In his position as CTO at Seerene research director Prof. Döllner manages to incorporate the optimal connection to include the results from the research directly in the product development of seereneTM.
